The towns are deserted now where people were before
The vegetation’s sick --- you can’t eat it anymore
Pity us….

I used to be so very angry but now anger is hard to find
With no hope for a future --- we count remaining time
I said it before that all the signs were there, before our eyes

About the future I have seen in a dim and distant dream
Of the ending of the world --- not in fire but in snow
Once the rivers and seas freeze and the snows come on the breeze
May the moon and stars be lost beneath a smothering white fog
As the jaws of that famished beast, in a final desperate feast
