I tried to party all night but I crashed out 'round twelve-thirty Tried to party all night but I really wasn't thirsty And I wasn't going to go, I tried to stay at home but they made me Yeah, there's something going on but I'm a Stay-In Stacey And if I don't get back alive Or if I don't make forty-five I’ve had a wonderful time, thanks for coming to see me Had a wonderful time, but I read the signs, I'm leaving And I wasn't going to go, ‘cos I’ve forgotten how to partáy Tried to party all night but I threw up outside Carpe And if I don't get back alive Or if I don't make forty-five Keep holding on Keep holding on Keep holding ever-shifting shapes and bodies out in space anon Hey, that’s friends holding on And if I don't get back alive Or if I don't make forty-five Keep holding on Keep holding on Keep holding ever-shifting shapes and bodies out in space anon Hey, that’s friends holding on Well, I guess it would be nice, if I could touch your body I know not everybody has a body like you And I gotta think twice, before I give my heart away 'Cos I know all the games you play, 'cos I play them too But you got to have faith You got to have faith, you do

Tonight, I’m going out murderin’ With my doctor’s coat and my doctor’s hat And my doctor’s tools in my doctor’s bag And it’s only ‘cos I’m lonely tonight Tonight, I’m going out stranglin’ Got my stranglin’ scarf and my stranglin’ gloves My strangler’s stare and my strangler’s clutch And it’s only ‘cos I’m lonely tonight Will you be there when I call? Oh yeah, of course, I disconnected the phones And I know full well you are home Because I can see through your windows And it’s only ‘cos I’m lonely tonight

The golden pathway A treasury of knowledge is found within My last will and testament Is found on the phantom ship The stolen bacillus --- the hoax. How Dante’s escaped the chateaux. A song for St. Celia’s Day --- La Belle Dame San Merci Oh ye --- oh yeay The golden pathway A treasury of knowledge is found within At war with the Corronades Being ashore --- O carpe diem! The stolen bacillus --- the hoax. How Dante’s escaped the chateaux. A song for St. Celia’s Day --- La Belle Dame San Merci Oh ye --- oh yeay The stolen bacillus --- the hoax. How Dante’s escaped the chateaux. A song for St. Celia’s Day --- La Belle Dame San Merci Oh ye --- oh yeay

I have nothing left to give, I need what is left so I can live --- Please spare me a little change Won’t you give me a Goddamn break? “No! No! No-No-No-No!" We are the government, the taxman and the wolf at the door The bank and the council and the Devil, of course Are baying for my blood again --- They always want more I have nothing left to give, I need what is left so I can live --- Please spare me a little change Won’t you give me a Goddamn break? “No! No! No-No-No-No! We are the government, the taxman and the wolf at the door The bank and the council and the Devil, of course --- We each have a price and we’ll help ourselves to what is yours” I have nothing left to give I need what is left so I can live --- Please spare me a little change Won’t you give me a Goddamn break? “No! No! No-No-No-No!” (Me and Billy Bragg.) When Moses stood on the mountaintop to receive the gift from God --- Who do you think we waiting at the bottom to divvy up his lot? Yeah, the government, the taxman and the wolf at the door The bank and the council and the Devil, of course! Ohh, I’m dreaming of everything, everything I have not I work all day and I’m not getting anything and the price of living won’t drop So I say, “No! No! No-No-No-No! No! No! No-No-No-No! FUCK OFF!”

about

These folk songs were recorded ‘live’ in isolation with a mish mash of lo-fi recording methods and welded together into new versions of some live favourites – songs that might very well have made the setlists had we been playing in venues before life on lockdown. Here they exist as a fun set of four with their rustic charm worn on their dressing gown sleeves.

Each song has an accompanying video which can be seen here - www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdfkonhuuTRTB5bMxB4J4yEiOctOJ9OEE
